gift economy: pay what feels best
We are a member-supported non-profit community who thrive by a wholehearted vision of gratitude, equality, inclusivity, sustainability, and abundance. By offering many of our services and gatherings through the Gift Economy (pay what feels best), we make spiritual healing and wellness accessible to all.
The Gift Economy is our way of putting into practice our values, by showing all of us how to honor our sacred intuition. We trust ourselves to know when is the best time to give and when is the best time to receive. And when we feel the non-judgmental support of our around us doing the same, our growth is exponential.
Gifts of Healing Program
The Gifts of Healing Program is an opportunity for those who have limited financial resources to receive individual healing services at Ordinary Pioneer. Each recipient will be placed with the healing facilitator that is most aligned with their needs and will receive a gifted healing session once a month for 3 months. After the 3 month period, they will need to reapply should they wish to be considered for additional gifted service.
For an individual to be accepted into this project, they must first fill out an application. Each accepted recipient is requested to participate in Seva (volunteer service) at Ordinary Pioneer and required participate in at least one community gathering a month for the duration of their healing services. This encourages integration with community to help each individual put to practice the development generated within the one-on-one healing sessions. We have seen that effective healing happens on both an individual level, as well as communal level!
After an application is received, someone will reach out to you when an opening becomes available if you were accepted into the program.

q: Are gatherings free?
At Ordinary Pioneer, we’d rather say that we share many of our gatherings and workshops as gifts. The term “free” tends to evoke ideas of one-time deals, coupons, and other grab-and-go cheap items. However, what we’re building at Ordinary Pioneer is incredibly valuable, ongoing, and profound. We are coming together as a community to experience the delight (and intentional vulnerability!) that comes through sharing.
By using the Gift Economy to share, we invite people to intuitively decide what they wish to share. Some people may choose to share a one-time financial gift, a monthly financial gift, volunteer, or simply share their positive energy or wise counsel with the community.
q: How much should I gift and how?
If it's on your heart to share a contribution, we invite you to take a moment to discover an amount that feels best to your heart. Perhaps in the moment, nervous feelings arise about looming bills to pay and so it feels best to consider volunteering. Or perhaps you choose to share dollars and so you choose the first number that pops into your head. Or perhaps you pray to a higher power and allow them to guide you in the way/amount you share. When considering how much to financially share, there is no wrong amount. We are grateful for all monetary energy you flow into Ordinary Pioneer and we trust your intuition to lead the way.

q: may I share a monthly financial contribution?
Yes! If you feel the calling to support our mission, we are excited to co-create with you. We invite you to make a monthly contribution of any amount. This amount can change or cancel at any time and will help us share support with those who currently have less financial means.
Q: what is seva?
Seva is a Sanskrit word that refers to the generous sharing of time, skills, and energy in the service of something greater than oneself. It is a profound method of awakening that opens our eyes to feel the richness, beauty and gratitude inherent in all of life. Seva cultivates a great sense of compassion and a deepening trust in the Divine.
At Ordinary Pioneer, seva is a big part of what we do. As we learn to see each other as family—and, ultimate, as One—we serve the needs of others even when it interferes with our own comfort, thus effectively dissolving the ego’s selfish desires. Ultimately, seva helps us to feel at home in our own skin and at home in the world. We do not have to wait for an afterlife: heaven is possible, right here and right now.
